What year motor do I have

I have a question, and hopefully one of you guys can help me. How can I find out what year engine I have in my car. I bought a 91 GST, but it had another moter put in it. I'm wanting to know how can I find out what year it is. I know it's a six bolt, but other than that I have no Idea.

what does the valve cover look like are the letters red?

Yes, the letters on the valve cover are red. Are they different between the 90 and 91's

look at your throttle body, if it has 4 vacum ports on the top it is 91-94 if it has 2 it is a 90. You can also pull the ECU and check the serial code with the vfaq serial code list.

Okay, I was able to get the Engine Identification number, if possible could someone translate it for me. Ok this is the top line, (Some of these might be wrong b/c it was dark and dirty,boobQ(maybe o)L, the second line is GV4133. I'm thinking it's a '90 motor.

The motor looks like it has all the sensors in it, but I don't know if they're from the this motor, or the '91 motor. If they're from the '91 motor will I have to switch them out? Do I need a '90 ecu, or will the '91 work? Will I have any problem with the tach not working? I'm sorry for all the questions, but I'm new at this, and I would rather fix this car than buy one that is already working,which I had the oppourtunity to do, so I would appreciate any information.
