I have three options and i am not sure what to do. My plans are to spary nitrous, get a decent turbo, and obviously all of the supporting mods. I wont be getting a bigger turbo for a few months yet, but would like to spray sometime soon. When i get bigger injectors, i will probably be getting 550's or 650's depending on what turbo i go with. My options are...
1. MAFT + SAFC + Palm logger
2. DSMLink
3. ECU Plus

I havnt heard too much about the ECU Plus, but i was reading a thread and the person who posted it said that you dont need a MAFT, SAFC, or any type of logger except for a wideband. That sounds somewhat the similar to a DSMLink. My only problem with a DSMLink is that the program is app. $700, plus i will need a laptop and 95' ecu. Some people have said that the only main thing i will need a DSMLink for is injectors above 850cc or something like that because an SAFC can't tune injectors that big. Plus, the SAFC and MAFT set up seems to be the most used and is very common. Can somebody give me some advice about what to go with, and what some of the differences are?

You can run Dsmlink from a Palm OS based PDA, you don't need a laptop. Dsmlink has nitrous controls: nitrous on/off, increase or decrease fueling while spraying, and decreasing timing while spraying.

Dsmlink gives you many options other than injector compensation, and it is far superior to any piggyback system.

Dsmlink has one of the best dataloggers built in, so you don't need a seperate logger.

Check out all of the things Dsmlink can do: http://www.dsmlink.com/details-overview.html

From personal experience, the s-afc did not control 680cc injectors that well. We put some 550cc injectors in it and retuned with the s-afc and it made a world of difference. Unfortunately i had to keep using the 680cc b/c they were mine, when i put the dsmlink on it made a world of difference. With Dsmlink you have alot more capabilities such as being able to read cel codes, tune for timing, and so on.

If you want to run some spray, you will need to beable to control timing while spraying. So you need to go with DSMlink or an EMS. ECU+ is also good but dsmlink is better. The only reason you see so much ECU+ is because there isnt an EVOlink and most people run it on the EVO8. Once a evolink comes out say goodbye to ecu+

Alright, so if i get the DSMLink, i wont need a laptop? A palm will be fine? And also, i will have to buy an ecu from a 95' right??

As long as the 95 ecu is an eprom. I don't know if all 95's were eprom. You need an eprom to run Dsmlink, and the pda will work fine.

The ECU does not have to be '95. Just get any ECU but MAKE SURE it's EPROM. It's really a grab bag of what 1g's came with EPROM, and most (if not all) GVR4's came with EPROM.

I did not know the evo can run on dsmlink. Why would so many people run ecu+ on an evo instead of dsmlink. Ecu+ has a great data logging system, that I heard was better than dsmlink but dsmlink has better injector and timing control.

The car in question is a 2g, so a 1g ecu won't work.

It requires a 2g eprom ecu and some wiring but it does work.

yes...i too am in this boat. i was thinking ecu+ because it is cheaper and can do enough for me to get by. anlos if i get an ecu+, i wont have to get a new ecu, which saves $, or a maft, which can save me $200. im only going to be running an evoIII with 650-80 injectors and a 190 pump. i dont see what the dsmlink can do that the ecu+ CANT do which is NECESSARY to get that setup to work...does anyone else?
