Hi everyone! my name is jake and I currently have a 2008 Mitsubishi eclipse GS that was my joy this summer and had a lot of fun modding it to my taste, im on club4g if you want to check it out heres the link - Unde's whip - Club4G Forum : Mitsubishi Eclipse 4G Forums - 2006-2012 Eclipse Authority

but anyway im looking at a 95 GSX 5spd and I just want to know what I should look for when I go and test drive it. ive talked to him and he said it has had a recent paint job and there is no rust. heres the link 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX **reduced**
and yes I know if I do end up buying It those rims are the first thing to go.

Before you even go look at it, run a carfax report or the like. It will give you some great information such as number of owners, reported accidents, reported mileage, and clean/rebuild/salvage title. It has saved me a lot of possible grief.

so I went and test drove it, it was sitting for about a day and it took a good 3-5 seconds for it to pull over. it had a pretty loud tick which im assuming was just a lifter tick but went away once it was fully warmed up. On the test drive the speedometer would go sometimes go to zero. The clutch would grip almost immediately after lifting your foot off the floor but had a lot of travel from when you pressed it in to when it disengaged. I look at the rear diff to see if it was leaking and it wasn't. it had an injen intake but looks like stock bpv, had a cat back exhaust at least, maybe a turbo back, also had a rear sway bar, front strut bar, tokico illuminas front struts, couldn't tell if they were on the rear or not. I doesn't have a deck, rear speakers and a headliner. I got him down to 2500$ which I thought was a pretty good price but I haven't decided for sure or not. It also had no strut tower rust, but now im just awaiting the VIN# to have a carfax done.

Sounds like a pretty good car man. Seems like you read the guideline and might have yourself a nice car. Hope all works out well. Keep us updated! :hellyeah:

Maybe he was a member on here, you can ask him and look his member name up to find out questions/problems he may have had! Sneaky but hey, it research :p

Thanks for the help everyone. And I have question about the audio system, since the deck is gone how can I tell if it's the infinity sound system? When I looked alls I found was one plug and an antenna wire. Also It had a boost and afr gauge, the afr gauge was not working but the boost was and spiked at 12psi which from what I read 11-12psi is stock correct?

I don't usually like 4g's but yours is really nice :) and the gsx looks decent for that price, but yes those wheels need to go :p

Thanks. I really like it just I'm sick of having a slow car that all the Hondas with a fart can can beat...

If I just hook up a deck to the one harness will the speakers still play? In my 4g you have to have the MITO harness to make the amp turn on without the Rockfordfosgate oe head unit.

I never had a problem with an aftermarket harness hoking right up to the factory wiring for the amp and what not.

Your door speakers should say infiniti on the back if it had the premium sound package.
