i found this dsm thats like 20 minutes away and i want to go test drive it soon

i think its a pretty deecent deal but was just wondering what you guys thought

its a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST 5 speed brand new motor not even driven yet ported and polished head with over sized stainless steel valves 16g turbo new clutch 2g manifold new kyb agx shocks on front white with black roof walbro 255 fuel pump 18in giavanna rims hyper black needs to be tuned. also an alpine type r sub. theres 132k on the body. the engine was just rebuilt. brakes are good and he has a ton of extra parts he said hell throw in.

in the pictures the car looks pretty clean but i dont know if im allowed to post them or the link so i wont

i think theres a dyno place by me so hopefully all it needs is the tune but i guess ill find out on the test drive.. o yeah the price was dropped from 3k to 2500

i know i ###### shouldnt have posted this i just wanted to hear some feedback from you expierienced dsmers out there :thumb:

well thats cool man hopfully you make a good decision, remember what i said i know of a 96 gst over here for 3 grand, not sure if thats in your price range or not but it's stock and it had a few things replaced on it (i don't quite remember what but there was some stuff replaced) let me know if you want the guys number to talk to him and i can run up to the store that had the add and get his number. there was a couple pictures attached to it too it was pretty nice looking. not sure if the person selling it would have pics online though?

i was thinking i would just recirculate the bov, run reg oil, get an afpr off ebay i guess LOL ( what should i set that too?), put the timing belt cover back on, put the fan on and heat shields, and then break the car in for a while...

so pretty much take it back to stock except for the fuel pump and no cat i think..

Try to understand, we're not nit picking the car because we think these are horrible and unfixable problems. We're pointing them out as a way of showing you that the car had an unintelligent owner that beat the piss out of it, had no idea what he was doing when modifying, and didn't take care of it.

No one is disputing you being able to return it to stock or fixing the already mentioned problems. Its a matter of poor maintainance for the life of the car that could leave you with large and much more costly problems than the obvious ones we were able to point out for you.

Try to be patient. I'm just like you and rush into things because I hate waiting when I want something. But trust me, this is something well worth taking your time on. Don't settle for a halfass car just to get it now.

your 100% right but its so hard not to buy one. ive been looking and trying to get one for like 8 months but either theyre too far away or overpriced.

it sucks man it really does, sure my audi runs fine and gets me from point a to point b but it doesnt quench my thirst for dsm's

i was thinking i would just drop out of college and become a state trooper and work on dsm's on the weekends..then again i do need a degree to be a njst, maybe ill just go to community i dont know

it had 120,000 i believe and i think it might have had a new motor put in... don't quote me on that but i think it said it did 30,000 ago but it may have been another one i was looking at

update: im going to test drive them friday morning before i go to work so ill post my expierience with that...

i think id like to buy the awd one because the guy who is selling it is a mechanic and hates shops so he does everything himself which is cool and he said if i ever needed anything done he would help me do it for no cost, for example putting in a new tranny and turbo hed help me with for no additional cost. hes a good guy so i trust him, it would be nice to have someone local help you out who actually knows what theyre doing ya know

figured id keep this in the same thread to conserve space :thumb:

i bid on the white gst that this topic was about, i didnt really want to win just wanted to see how high the reserve was :sneaky:

but umm it looks like im going to win it depending on who bids. so im going to check out the car before i send payment and then go from there

ill keep you guys posted. o yea heres the link

UPDATE: i think i have found the one finally. It's a 1990 gsx with 90k on it with a rebuilt engine and turbo with new tires and an exhaust. Has new tires on it as well. Its going for about 2,000 bucks so Im probably going to jump on that either tomorrow or saturday. It about an hour drive from me so ill check it out and most likely make the purchase :rocks:

all it needs is paint so im going to maaco it or do it myself ( have compressor and paint gun )

what do you guys think it seems like a pretty deecent deal....ill post pictures when i get them :thumb:
