I'm looking at buying a new DSM in the next month or two. Want to get a 97-99 2g AWD with about 80k or under miles, willing to go up to 100k but would rather not. What are things I need to look out for, and stay away from? And what is a good price for a car in these conditions? And what sites other than here, autotrader, and ebay are good for looking for one? I did a search on buying a new DSM, couldn't find anything.

ah, good call, didn't see that, ah well you can delete this then I suppose :)

Ok thx guys, i've found a couple of ones i've put offers on, don't really wanna pay more than 6k on a 95 or so, but I found a really nice 98 GSX for like 5k or so, but its on the other side of the country :(. What kinda questions do I need to ask him to possibly be able to go over there KNOWING I want to purchase?

Did the previous owner do scheduled maintenance? Most specifically, timing belt/water pump @ 50-60k miles, Regular oil changes, etc.

Has the car ever been in any sort of accident or had any other damage done to it in it's life? (water damage, theft recovery, collision damage, etc)

Has the car had all of it's recall work done to it? Ball joints, transfer case, etc?
