Ok so i picked up a 91 eclipse GSX local. the engine was apart in build process and unfortunitly the guy couldnt finish the project due to financials. i bought to finish and have a nice year round DD. im in the process of repainting the whole car and doing all the engine work. my goal is a RELIABLE car with decent MPG (i drive an expedition right now. :ohdamn: ) but i also want to be able to turn up the boost adjust my tune and run high 11's, low 12's.... so far i have
-New fresh casting 7 bolt head
-B/C 280 cams with springs and titanium retainers
-AEM Tru time cam gears
-HKS timing belt with all new timing components
-new water and oil pump
-ACT street light fly, 6 puck clutch, 2600 PP
-255 pump, 780 injectors, 2G maf
-FMIC, Dejon intake pipe
-datalogger, wideband, egt and boost gauge to monitor and tune
-SAFC 2, Greddy profec B boost controller, burned chip for my eprom (cant remember from where but its apperantly wrote for injectors, maf etc)
Im going to DSM graveyard (local) to have my 6 bolt block bored, decked etc

My questions are if my goals are reachable? the Injectors too big? What pistons and should i use the 1g big rods i have or go aftermarket?
Thanks for the help!!! :hellyeah:

your well on your way to some fast times, i would get rid of the safc, if you can, and go with ecmlink v3 if you can afford it. your going to need a good tune to run those times and the afc wont be as good. i went with the afc neo, and my buddy uses the safc 2 on his 1g, we both agree that its holding us back from the power we could be making.

Sounds like a top end build! Lol. I'd sell the 280 cams and get 272/272. It's better considering ## not building a 600whp motor. I'd go with bc rods they are good for the price and can withstand 200hp per cylinder. 6bolts have better rods you could possibly get away with stock rods.

Also make sure you have a fpr. Your gonna need it with that 255. Your injectors will be fine. What turbo do u have or plan on running?

I don't see anywhere where you state what turbo you plan on running? Also those injectors might be a little small for your goals. The safc would be fine if you are using it coupled with a burned chip as it will allow you to make minor changes to the fuel tables but you won't have any additional methods of adjusting timing.

If your going to be at graveyard anyway why not just pick up a set of evo9 pistons on 1g big rods. You should be set for about 450 given you Arp everything.

Get DSMlink, the 780s are way too big for the SAFC, you'll be running extremely rich. Max injector size you should run with an SAFC is 720s.

He said he has a chip, so the chip could get reburned and he could use the safc to fine tune it

So Safc and the chip I have are no good for what im running? Can you have 2 tunes saved on dsm link like you can the safc? I like the idea of a few buttons between daily driver and haha corvette tunes. I plan on keeping my 1g big rods with my 6 bolt block and crank. Have them cleaned, polished, machined as needed, ARP'd and installed with ACL bearings. Just can't decide on a piston.
here's a link to the turbo I have its a Hahn racecraft "super" 20G with tubular manifold. http://www.turbosystem.com/auto/Super 20G Universal.htm

Exactly, I was hoping the chip would be my main tune and SAFC would be piggy back to dial it in.
Fuel regulator is in the works as well!

So 280s are to overkill for what i want to do?
