Hey guys looking for some input. Im putting my motor together and i want to have my cylinder head rebuilt. I want to get a stock rebuild and just have some upgraded springs, retainers and cams put in. im looking to make around 300whp on an ported fp big 28. I plan on doing some road racing and autocross with the car. do you guys think a factory rebuild will be a good way to go? also what cams would you guys recommend? i was thinking along the lines of kelford 264/260's. the block is a factory rebuilt 6 bolt with acl bearings, arp rod bolts and arp main studs. thanks in advance any input would be great.

A stock rebuild with new springs would be a decent build. Along with being afordable.
For the Kelford 264/260, the springs will need to be looked into, so you have a spring that will take the abuse.

You may want to concider some port work, just to clean things up.

Good vition blue seals, and stock 6T valves, will be a decent package.

300whp? Keep it stock as a rock.

But since that'll get boring, refresh it, and go with more spring than you think you will need..

Swapping cams and re-timing is a lot more convenient than pulling the whole head, paying for a new head gasket, etc.
