I know everyone hates these questions but I have spring break and my clutch is broken for the time being so I need to make the best of my down time. I plan on porting and polishing everything that can be and the motor is pretty much stripped but I want to know what else I can do. Thanks.

You can do cheap time consuming stuff like painting your valvecover and heatshields, or polish your turbo. You can paint rims and bov's, make dual stage mbc with stock bcs. Make data a loggercable or grounding kit, rewire altenator, fuel pump. Thats just a start, I'll probably think of some more. Do you know how to weld?

Remove vacuum lines, fix boost leaks, clean up the engine bay and exterior, sandblast (if available) and repaint rusted stuff, check the suspension and bushings and such, repaint splash shields black (probably faded), polish up stuff, clean the interior, remove stains, remove weight from the car...there's all kinds of stuff you could do that's cheap or free.

Well I want to paint the valve cover but I don't want to have to replace all the gaskets and little rubber thingys. I've painted the rims, rewired the fuel pump, did the dual stage boost controler (which I love that), fixed boost leaks when I did the FMIC a month ago, and I've pretty much pulled all the weight from the interior. I do know how to weld.

Well if the valve cover gaskeets are still in good shape, ie not ripped or hardened, you can get away without replacing them. And if they are in bad shape they should be replaced regardless anyways. When you have the valve cover off its also a good time to clean all your lifters

Is there a vafq on cleaning the lifters? Or can you just tell me what to do?

Thanks but that sounds way to complicated for me. Anything else guys?
