what things can i do to my 4g63 motor to prevent crankwalk??

I just rebuild my motor but what can i do to my motor to prevent crankwalk?

The 99's CAN get crankwalk, obviously, it's just less occurring in this year.Do a search and you will find out why...

It's just one of those things you have to watch out for, if you treat your car right you shouldn't have any problems.

k i see everyone is talking about 7bolt blocks but my concern is it possible to steel get crankwalk on a automatic 97 eclipse gsx awd 2.0 4g63?

Nice!! 10 year bump . Don't worry about crank walk it's happens like 2% of dsms. 97-99 have a split thrust bearing making them even better and less of a chance of CW as to the 95-96 7bolts.

Unlikely, especially in an AT. No lateral load while starting. Not impossible but unlikely.
The best thing you can do to avoid cw in ANY engine with a heavy PP is to wire the clutch inhibit switch out. Then start it in neutral. No side load on a thrust bearing w zero oil pressure. Sounds like a good idea to me. I wired mine out immediately after i got it.

And ya, a 10 year old bump! Daaaaaaaaauuuuum. At least it is better than starting a new thread i suppose.
