What style c/f hood...

The top one is the TRD style Supra hood. I know one 420a guy around here has a custom one but I can't remember his name.

I'm not so sure that's the VIS JS hood . . . all other images I've seen of it show two vents toward the windshield-line of the hood.

My personal fave is the EVO style... but, I'm biased.

Also.. the engine bay doesn't become a mess due to the hood, it's the monkey working on it that causes that.

Yup. Sphyder has a nice 2G. I wish he made a write up for the cutout on the bumper. It's nice.

I'm sure it just takes a good bit of bondo/fiberglass work to get a chopped-up 2g bumper to look like that. But the work does look good

So uh, with those after market CF and fiberglass hoods out there with the vents and loops or whatnot, do they work by venting out heat or are they strictly for looks?

Depends on the design. I know my E3 hood vent is functional and helps the heat from the mani vent from under the hood (while idling).

The vented hoods aren't only for looks. The amount of heat coming out of my engine bay even at idle is amazing. Due to the little bump before the vent, it creates a low pressure over the vent and also aids in sucking the hot air out of the engine bay.
