Not sure why they are posted this high of a price where there is a place 45 minutes from me selling authentic ViS hoods in the $300-400 range

^^^ I'm not a big fan of these types of hoods. Just seems like to much shit would get in the engine bay and you would have to clean it all the time.

I have the type of hood that you say would make a mess in the engine bay. Mine stays clean.

That is a Carbon Creations Vader hood, and is not longer made. I know this for a fact, because I tried for over 2 years to find one...

Yes, but when you place the order or call to ask about the hood, they'll call Carbon Creations who will tell them that the hood has been replaced with the Vader 2 hood and is no longer made.

Nope, that hood is discontinued. The links you posted are of completely different hoods, I'm not sure if you noticed that.

Hey, thanks for backing me up man. You don't even know how hard I searched for that hood myself. I would pay $1k for this brand new if I ever found it somewhere. I wonder why they discontinued it, such a nice hood.

It's not too bad. It's kinda suttle (compared to the others pictured in this thread). I'd personally go OEM style.

I still haven't been able to find a picture of the JS on a 2G DSM. But this is the JS hood:
