I was wondering what size the stock 2g throttle body is for a 1997 gst. I was looking to upgrade mine and wondering what size i should upgrade to?

If you upgrade at all, go to a stock 91-94 1st gen TB. They are 60mm. I belive the 2nd gens are 52? correct me if im wrong.

Stock 1st gen TB will support enough flow all the way to the 9's.

Agreed. A 1st gen 60mm throttle body would be a perfect, simple upgrade. A little porting of the intake manifold is necessary to match your new TB, but it is simple and would be true of any larger throttle body your putting on. Good luck.

Edit* Wow, you guys are quick...

Sounds great, but i was wondering for the 1g if there is a difference in the size of the automatic and manuel throttle boddies. My friend had a dodge neon and the automatic and manuel throttle boddies are different sizes. Thanks alot again.

the 420a motor is completely different from the 4G63 motor. here's a breakdown, there is no difference between ATX and MTX.

1990 TB - unusable in a 2g, 60mm
1991-1994 turbo - best option for 2g, 60mm, flush mount for TB elbow
1991-1994 nonturbo - good option too, same as turbo TB but with a lip to get a coupler on there instead of a TB elbow.
1995-1999 turbo TB - 52mm bore = the suckage. flush mount.
1995-1999 nonturbo - TOTALLY DIFFERENT. it will not fit.

Good info but I think he was wanting to know if there was a difference between the 1G turbo manual trans. throttle body versus the 1G turbo automatic trans. throttle body.
