what should be replace, now that motor is out

got my motor out of the car a couple of weeks ago and was wondering what i should replace will the motor is out. timing belt was already done before. i'm thinking water pump, intake manifold gasket (got it), evoIII exhaust manifold and gasket (got it), upgrade them lifters, putting in a newer transmission in, clutch is still new, going to have to resurface flywheel or fidanza flywheel, knock sensor.

i was thinking about replacing the head gasket as well, but i'm not sure if i should do it. also i need some gaskets, where do you guys most get your gaskets..? i dont need intake or exhaust or valve cover gaskets.

i know i'm missing something so let me know if there's anything important that i should replace or just cause the motor is out.

Why did you pull the engine? I for sure would do a complete seal change. Do the cams, crank, and rear main. Check the oil pan gasket and replace if necessary. I wouldn't do the head gasket unless there's a reason. Like going higher boost, leaking, etc. I would put in a lightweight flywheel because it's a pretty good advantage and allows the engine to wind up quicker thus freeing up horsepower for the wheels. Accessory drive belts, hoses and anything else that would wear out and give problems. Take the radiator and have it tested for restrictions and leaks. Sometimes just better to replace as it's probably plastic and no one wants to fix them. Take a pressure washer and clean the engine bay and frame. Now is as good a time as any. If you are going to upgrade manifolds, same thing applies here. Yes, do a water pump as they are a killer to change once engine is back in. Also, replace the timing belt tensioner and idlers. I've said this a lot lately. This makes sure when you are back on the road, you lessen your chances of having something going wrong in the timing belt area.

took the motor and engine out cause the tranny's bellhousing took a dump on me so i needed a newer tranny. i really need to clean the engine bay, man its dirty i dont really have much belts to replace, no ac, no power steering.
