What Port and Polish tools do I need?

Hello. My goal for my head is to just mainly port the ridges, lines, and grooves out and then to polish it. What Tools will I need? I have been looking on ebay and I see the bits and stuff. I just wonder do I only need the bits, or do I need the bits and the pads. I search under port and polish. Thanks, Austin.
 
1/4 inch egg shaped burr with a 6 inch shank, and a 6 inch mandrel with 80 thru 320 grit cartridge rolls.

edit: and a die grinder, air compressor, Ect
 
idk about using a wire brush. I would if there was one small enough to go into the ports. I have a dremel that I have been using. I am just asking which tools do I need the most in terms of using an air compression and a hand held tool that will hold drill bits etc.
 
ok that is a little of what I am looking for. I want to know which tools someone would recommend from someone who port and polished a head.

WTF I got pretty specific on my post. I realize that I am a new member but I am not new to DSM's by any means. I have done porting work, engine work, and teched several of these cars.:talon:
 
I would personally use a dremel or the Harbor Freight equivalent. You can also use a die grinder with a shank that holds barrel, drum, or cartridge rolls, whatever you prefer to call them, in various grits from coarse to fine. Also, flapper wheels are a very good choice for keeping a consistent finish when you are finishing up the job. Aluminum is very easy to port, so be careful.

You seem to want to just clean up the head which is a smart move without a flow bench. But I would recommend NOT polishing the intake runners. They need a slightly rough finish (80 grit) so the fuel wont puddle on the runner floor, which can have very detrimental results. Polish the exhaust until you can see your face in it if you want! That will inhibit carbon deposits and help with velocity which you definitely want hitting your turbine wheel.
