What play is bad in a turbo?

Okay cool.
I'm still running the stock boost controller with the insert pulled out of the port to up the boost 1-2 psi(found in stage 0 mods)
Will it be okay to leave like this or should I pickup a mbc and dial it in according to the boost gauge?

When they say you can "safely" run a 16g on the stock fuel system they mean you can safely run 10-11 PSI typically. Some douche bag kid is going to come in here now claiming they ran their 16 at 16-18 PSI for YEARS. However the truth is usually they were seeing stupid injector duties and never even bothered checking to see what they were... usually never even check for knock.

My friend's 97 GST on a evo 3 16g at 10.6 PSI was knocking like hell on cold days but ran "safely" on the typical Oregon 60-80 degrees. This was on a motor that had a rebuilt head and block as well.

You could possibly get more efficiency out of a 14b which would result in more power and better spool. The 16gs efficiency range will be out of reach of your stock fuel system. I'd say 15-16 PSI COULD BE "safe", however every motor is different.

*off topic* Just thought I'd throw this out there for laughs. I saw IN PERSON a kid running a GT3076R on DSM injectors in his Civic. He asked why the spool and power was lower than what his friend's said it would be. I had to tell him it was because his friends are dicks...

Yeah that'll work, just make sure the actuator on the turbo works for the boost you're aiming for and it'll work. The MBC will just intercept the pressure and set it accordingly. If your actuator is stock and working, you'll be running stock boost. Can't hurt to check the boost gauge to make sure though.
