If you don't know when the last one was done, a timing belt change as well as a balance belt change. A new set of accessory belts. And depending on the mileage and work records, you could be close to a water pump and other related maintenance.

I would say also check all the other fluids under the hood and make sure they are all in good condition. Definitely check your belts and such. If your valve gasket is leaking too I would say replace that too. But it all depends on previous service records and how many miles are on the car. For me I just like to start everything new when I buy a new car.

why do people buy these wal mart oil additives?

Change the timing belt. you only have 20 until the next one and its a peace of mind thing to know that its done so you can mod the car.

What kind of plugs did you get? (NGK bpr6es)

either better life expectancy, horsepower increase, and/or more gas mileage.
Pick two of the three.

If it were me I would do the timing belt and other maint. things like coolant flush and change trans fluid transfercase and rear end fluids.

how is an oil some how going to take the scratches off the cylinder walls? Look on the bottle is it even suppose to be ran on a turbo/supercharched vehicle?

I know the motor flush stuff isn't suppose to be used on turbos.

if your car is knocking you need to fix it instead of putting oil additives in it.

Talking oil additives to gear heads is like talking religion or politics. Ive never seen personally a motor come apart by adding engine additives. And to my knowledge nobody on here has ran a car from day 1 to current and kept good logs w or w out additives etc.

Why does everybody go bashing on the new guy :nono:

Welcome to DSMtuners here you will find mixed opinions from various parst of the world. I find it usually best to take it in stride as most of the scenarios have been :beatentodeath: countless times. Its usually better to spend your time searching the forums as opposed to defending your statements as they are sometimes rudely shot down by members who are frustrated with the same old questions. That in mind use your melon its the best way to keep your DSM alive and your pocketbook full

i dont mind everyone "bashing" my idea, if its not good for the car then im glad they are telling me because I didnt know. But as long as it doesnt have a negative effect then im not too worried about the money i wasted on it.

Should i really change the oil again LOL?
Im happy atleast that Im on the right track for proper maintenance to get this guy back to where it should be.:)

Seafoam it, drive 100 miles, then change the oil with some cheap stuff, and change it every 2k with the cheap stuff, you don't have to have full synthetic as long as you change it often (only takes me about 15mins and $16)

Also do a boost leak test - IC Pipe Tester - I can't believe no one said anything about that! :ohdamn:

:nono: Wow has anybody noticed this link to the BLT and HOW he set it up? Why would you run pressure to the inlet of the turbo so it spins w out running oil through it?

You can just as easily run the air into the intake through the vacuum port thats how I did mine. I know its no bueno to spin a turbine w out sufficient oil running through it

EDIT** nvm hes using an air take w very minimal CFMS but ive seen this link w people referring noobs to using a small compressor :(

Can you hear it spinning the turbo? No, you can't. It's not spinning it enough (if at all) to do anything harmful. BTW realize that you're questioning VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions , a website that has been used for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS BY EXTREMELY EXPERIENCED DSM OWNERS. Someone would have noticed if this was wrong and would have corrected it.

What vacuum port are you talking about? The one on the throttle body? So that way it only pressurizes the TB and the IM? What about the rest of the IC plumbing? What about the bov? You can't stick a vacuum line on the j-pipe nipple because the boost will bleed backwards out the air filter.

Stop posting so much and search more.

While your testing all your boost leaks etc. May also be a good idea to clean the inside of the intercooler if its been a while. Vfaq can help with that, cleaning the intercooler may possibly help increase cooling capability of the intercooler. Also from my experience a good cleaning of the engine bay also makes working on these cars more enjoyable(especially if the bay is really nasty).

Even though you have the receipts for the T-belt job it is still one of those things you should probably do.
