what is needed to put a jdm engine in my usdm 98 gsx?

is it a direct bolt in or do i need the usdm extrimidies?

I'd preffer a usdm model, but i am having no such luck in finding one.

Are you talking about a 6-bolt or 7-bolt engine? Fitment of the 7-bolt would be the same as the stock engine; the 6-bolt would follow any standard 6-bolt install procedure.

Don't waste your money on a JDM engine. It's literally more affordable to build your own engine using high-performance parts if you can afford the downtime.

+1 Rebuild it yourself and you have a new 0 mile engine and you dont have to worry about how you engine was treated by its previous owner

I agree, i purchassed a jdm engine with awd trans wireing harness and ecu for 3100 last year, went to replace the water pump and found all kinds of shit in the water passages on the block, so i decided tio investigate further and found a crack in the frontcase, and a few shavings in the oil pan everything else is mint though, but the point is you really dont know what your gonna get with a jdm, and thats alot of money to throw at a long shot, for 3100 i could have built a fully forged bottom end with race bearings and a good clutch, with a mls and arps. I would start pricing aftermarket parts and machine workand see what you come up with before you try to take the easy way out and make a huge mistake

naw guys my block has a hole the size of my torso.

I'll rebuild the jdm if i need to if it's gona fit perfectly,, 7bolt btw
