what kind of ET's are the 420a turbo's seeing?

Thanks for posting the sheet but i am confused. 300whp which is not far for Hahn saying the motor is good daily to 300chp but at 16psi you should be better than that. Didnt Hahn measure his kit at 10psi to put the motor at 300chp? I could have sworn he did. Now if you are using a very small turbo then i can see it but you said you were using a t3/t4 which depending on the trims will outflow the 16g that Hahn measured. 300whp isnt much to brag on a stock motor, its great but i would sy its no great feat. Your track times are somethign to take pride in but that is a whole different story. I would almost want to question the dyno's accuracy for a second opinion, you should do better than that at 16psi. Your AFR numbers look ok from what i can see, you do need to flatten them a bit.

You have 2 different pulls there, what was the difference?

I cant remember the two different Dyno's used but a 2GNT member had an issue with accuracy. He was totally opposite claiming 400+HP that when measured on a second dyno was only 337whp. Big difference. I am starting to want to dyno mine, i swore i would never Dyno it to claim numbers and boast like others do but maybe i should just as reference. I just need to find someone i trust.

Yeah...I'm in the same boat, I would have expected more from 16psi, but meh still all good.
 
sorry it is not impressive on the numbers, just funny how a week or few ago i was called a liar making 308whp now it isnt shiit, come on now, this was with a stock motor and head ( which in stock form does not flow a god damn thing) and also i still went 12.4 CONSISTENTLY with my car and still would but it is getting ready for 500whp+ for nhra to see exactly what one of these can do at high altitudes and hot weather, also cant wait for the cooler weather to be back so we can tune it for around 30psi with a gt35r on this biznatch.:thumb: :thumb: :sneaky: :notgood: ROFL :tease: :nono: :beatentodeath: :rocks: ;)
 
I also find it interesting how you claim the motor can take so much abuse yet you are pulling it to rebuild it. I never called you a liar, i told you i dont believe it till proof is given, get over yourself. Our motors have issues with over 300hp for extended periods of time and most people including hahn are accomplishing that around 10-12 psi. I think you have tuning issues to be that low or that motor is already a low compression motor.
 
i already said i was rebuilding for nhra, if you look to see what the people in spfwd are running you would see why im doing this.
who has accomplished over 300 at the wheels for a good amount of time, all i see is a bunch of people claiming 230 to 260ish with a built motor and running 14s or high high 13s at best, not bashing hahn cause they are the pinnacle for these cars.
also where is a time list for these cars!! there should be one for people to compete for a top ten list of sorts.
 
Most of the other turbo guys keep there posts over at 2gnt.com and for some reason don't post their 1/4mile times or dyno's over here on dsmtuners.com nore do they have a list of their own.

I'm hoping to see the list fill out more, becaue there is no way I should be #4 or #5 on this list with a 14.3


one more thing awddynamite, I'm assuming you guys had an LSD and axles put in along with the slicks you used. But i was wondering just what kind of Lsd and axles, and what size slicks are did you use to run 12.5-12.4 consistantly?

all runs were done with stock tranny with no lsd and the axles are also stock, just slipped the clutch a little out the whole and all is gravy just like honda axles. the slicks are 24.5-8.5-15 by M&H
i will be getting driveshaft shop axles before the event though.

might be wrong but that was at 30psi and some nitrous, simple as this 420GAYS HEADS FLOW LIKE A LAWN MOWER ENGINE, you can only look at them and tell that.
have you looked at a 1st gen dsm head? there you will see a head that flows with no pnp.

so you are telling me the 1st gen head does not flow and the 420a head flows good, do you relize the old school dsm head is one of the highest flowing heads on a four cylinder engines of all all times, which has enough room to make make 800whp comfortably which the 420### has not seen not many times. if it has it has not seen it many times, besides len ayala and that auto neon guy that has gone 9s with an auto tranny.

Or...how about, lets drop it and stop throwing outrageous numbers and talking about how much HP your car has and that the 1 gen head can take 800hp...please stop blowing smoke out your butt and come back down to real time, where there are no 800hp eclipses, for the most part. I am sure that maybe one of the only 800+ HP eclipses is Brent Rau's and he isn't on here blowing smoke about how his stock head he runs 6's with is the shiz and he's comparing it too the 420a...yes, numbers are fine and dandy, but we all know it comes down to tuning and many other factors. So this thread, is about ET's and times, not your drama, so lets keep it on topic for the original poster, whether it be an old thread or not. I'm non turbo'd right now, but collecting a garrage full of parts to prep for it. So I dont have numbers to post up and I dont think I want to know what my times are in this thing. All I know is that I'm faster then a regular GS, and slower then a GST.

but I do have to say about awdynomite, he has shown a video of his car (and even if it wasn't his, its a FWD Talon for god sakes) doing 12's. That right there is proof enough, what you guys need to ask for, is photos of that EXACT car, with its hood up, showing off a turbo 420A. And when he shows it, bow down! Cause I'd seriously DIE to have a 12 Second Daily Driver!

I'm just afraid of damaging my new crate motor. The motor has about 8000 miles on it (a guess since speed sensor still isn't working) and even to tune the car, there's a risk of blowing it up.

So people should only try to reach for those high numbers, if they are going to be ok after thier engine starts smoking, if it does!
