what kind of ET's are the 420a turbo's seeing?

Oh wow I didn't even realize where you were. Altitude has everything to do with it. Your friend would probably (but not guaranteed) be in the 13s under normal conditions. None the less he would most likely do better close to sea level.
 
So since we're talking about tires spinning etc. and ya'll obviously deviated away from my thread topic (its okay I'm not mad :mad: ) I was also wondering if you know of whats a good LSD for our 420a's?
 
Actually i think they only make one for us and its major expensive! quaife or something like that.


P.S. Big Rand... you ever in the puyallup/Lakewood area???

It's been so long since I had my 420a but obviously B&M makes one but I'm not sure if Kaaz, Quaife, or Cusco make one or not.

I drive from Seattle to Olympia like every other weekend, (school to home), and I stop a lot in lakewood, cause I go to Axiom a lot of the times.( its off of stelicome BLVD. by the jack in the box off of S. Tacoma way)

But we should meet up this weekend or something, I'd really love to see another 420a turbo. PM me.

I was hitting 14.8@95ish consitently with 6-7psi and 2.2 60' on stock motor. Now I have built motor running at 14psi and the best I've been able to pull is 14.458@99mph with 2.4 60'. I'd guess the best I could hit is maybe a 14.1 with a 2.2 60'. That is using SFMU with very inconsistent AFRs. I did my best to tune to high 11's:1 but it only stays there for half of the rpm range then gets really rich. I hit 99mph EVERY run now, never higher, never lower, and it doesnt change depending on my launch. If I had ability to tune a consistent 11.5:1 I'd garauntee high to mid 13's with a 2.2 60' or better.
 
Are you all on 5speed trannies? I have an auto and I will hopefully be taking it to the track in the next month. I would like to see the comparison between trannies.

You my friend need a SAFC to take away that fuel up in the high rpms.
 
Yeah. I dyno'd today. Only 211whp and 228lb-ft @ 14psi, 195whp 210lb-ft @ 10psi. I definetally need something to tune with. It goes WAY rich after 4k. After 4k it slopes down to under 10:1 by 5k. It was really disapointing, but at least I know why it runs so poor 1/4 and i still have another 40 or so hp to squeeze from tuning.

siueclipse may have hp but fwd cant put it down as well as an awd.

A fwd turbo will not come close to beating a awd in a drag if horse power is fairly the same. 14.8 with that many mods....must be a rich kid driving that doesnt know shit about cars.

SIU has sold his car and bought an STi since this thread. A guy in a thread on 2gnt.com ran a 14.3 on 7 psi i believe.

But thanks for resurrecting a very old thread.
 
We'll see what kinda numbers I can throw down this summer if my car ever leaves my garage...and I don't mean by pushing :notgood:
 
Yeah I'm thinking about hitting up the track tomorrow night up at Pacific Raceways in WA, Lets see what kind of 1/4mile time I can put down turbo'd, because since I've been turbo'd I've never been to the track with it.

10-12psi is what I should be pushing when I do go, but My air fuels are way off in the rich and will probably be a lot slower then I'm thinking.
Oh well.

Nice job Rand...to bad I won't be able to get mine to the track one last time before it's gone :cry: ...but that is dang good run man...a good starting point...more hope for getting to that mid-13 mark or lower once you get it tuned right:rocks: ...nice job and ill have to swing by next time...hit me up...later bro...:thumb:

Yeah but the only video's I have are of me running 14.4, 14.5, and 14.6.
1st gear is horrible, I have got to learn how to launch my car, because I should have been knocking on the high 13's door. Its okay I'm untuned and its my first time back at the track in more than 1.5 years.

Haha I'm still N/T and I'm getting 16s... best is 16.356 @ 83.18 with a 2.435 60'... I hate being slow, but the turbo is coming! My best 60' ever is 2.388... At least I can say I beat some of you turbo guys in a race!!! 0-60'!!!! LOL!! ROFL I crack myself up! :D
