What is the best ACT clutch should i buy...i will be using it for everyday use and for street racing(not all the time) i dont want to burn it up big time....ACT 2100?:talon:

ok with that little insight...any suggestions on what one would be best for what im gonna be using it for? everyday use and some streetracing. thanks

The act 2100 is a great clutch and would be perfect for your set up. My only word of caution is if you decide in the near future to go with a larger turbo or any other major power adder, you might want to go with something larger instead of doing it twice. I have a 2600 and its very streetable and I’ve heard good things about the Slowboy 3500. Just a thought.

i like the spec clutches that will be my next clutch after this act goes out

My centerforce is very streetable but after layin down some rubber it gets really spongy. I have heard great things about the exedy and ACT so I would go with one of those

:talon: :talon: by "watch clutch" i mean like what model...not just a name brand i need a model too...so that i know what to get so im not getting a stage 3 and burn it up in less than a month. thanks :talon: :talon:

:talon: :talon: AWESOME nice pic man..haha you look constipated...ok i think im gonna go with the act 2100 :thumb: :talon: :talon:

The ACT 2100 is what I have and so far I have no issues from it. I will be putting it through it's paces this summer, but In my opinion if you are going to keep modding your car, you will need an ACT 2600 in the not so distant future. In my opinion I would buy the 2600 so that your prepared when you wanna turn up the boost.

it wouldn't be a good idea to get a puck style clutch disc for street driving. get a full face disc and you'll be much happier.

^^^I'm with him on this one, been there done that, would not recomend anyone that cares about there car to get a puck style clutch on a street driven car. It can be done after a little practice, but would not recomend it.

Agreed Read RRE's writeup on different clutch types
www.roadraceengineering.com

I also would definatly Go with an ACT 2600. the heavier pedal isnt much to worry about unless you are a... (arnold voice) Girly Man.

stick with a street disc. puck clutches are too agressive and dont have a happy spot.
and DONT SAY YOUR GOAL IS STREET RACING

that is a sure way to lose your thread.

By "street raceing" i meant the redlight drivers delight...LOL how long should these clutches last becasue i know a stock clutch will last a long @$$ time.but an aftermarket i have heard them to go out quickly.i still have the stock clutch in my 91 and my 94.
Puck?why a race disk...i have been told to stay away from them...explain please

aftermarket clutches normally go out because they are intended for High performance Stuff.

I Had a 2600 in my 2g last year, evoIII 16g build and it Held up great, and it was..... a used clutch. was mostly worn out, and still held good no slips.
I have a clutch Masters 2500 in my current 2g, cause its 7bolt. so far no complaints, though its still stock.

Really you want a street disc. Puck and race discs arent good for Daily driving.

If you plan to drive the car daily to commute and for the random (hey look at that rice beside be lets toast it) then just stick with the 2600 and street disc.

I say you will need more than the 2100.
RRE has a side by side compare like i stated above, check itunder clutches

:talon: why would a puck style clutch go out faster?which one will i see the biggest improvement?2100 or the 2600? :talon:

I had a 2100 in my car its really nice but then i got up some money and bought a 2900 and oh baby i love that thing...

I would deffenitley go with the 2600 . It is a little hard to push in but it is proven itself to me. It is durable. I put one in my brothern in laws 91 awd . Its well modded with evo 111 16 g and a ton of other mods, to tired to right it all out . But it has had the snot beat out of it and has never lost grip.

Go 2600 all the way with the street disc, if you are worried about extra pedal pressure get a SS clutch line and that should help it some. I have my ACT 2600 with SS clutch line, it is heavy but you get used to it really fast. Also it is still slipable which is good for launching.

No. This will not affect the resistance of the clutch atall. its purpose is to make engagement

"More precise and direct"

It wont soften the pedal, Just make it have a more solid feel.
