well i'm not really on this site anymore but thought i would come back adn check it out, and it has changed some since i left. i've been away from these cars for almost a year now, and while i'd much rather forget the night that left me without my eclipse anymore i can say it was probably for the better. i had a 93 eclipse with the fabled 4g37 (1.8 for those of you that think the 4g63 and 420a's were the only ones to ever exist
). last january i slid over a patch of ice and went off the road, landing on my roof after all was said and done. while not much was done to the car at the time i had definitely been planning on some things but a crushed roof kinda killed that. i got a job shortly there after and after going without a car for quite sometime and looking at a couple different cars (including a 95 tsi awd) i finally picked something up: a 96 volkswagen gti vr6. i bought it from my neighbor, who was looking to pay off his newly purchased 2000 audi s4 (2.8 liter v6 twin turbo, awd 6-spd...its ridiculous fast trust me). the car had sat for about 3 years or so and needed some love, but it was happy jsut to be out and on the road again. here are some pics i took a few weeks ago..
i've put some time and money into it so far but it's no where near where it could and will be. so far its got a short ram intake, GIAC computer chip, catback exhausts, polyur. motor mounts, and borbet 15's with falken azenis tires. this car has ridiculous torque. last week i updated the look with a "JTI" conversion, putting jetta headlights on it..
the scene also took some getting used to. the "euro" trends are so completely different than what you find here or on the subaru boards i frequent because of my love for those cars. its all about how low can you go and how edm can you get.
for anyone wondering why i did end up buying this, i can say this; i did it for the money. i got such a good deal on this i couldn't pass it up. the car itself is worth atleast $4k, and i also got included the performance chip, the wheels with falken azenis tires, two sets of stock wheels with kumho ecstas and snow tires, and an oem suspension set up worth a couple hundred, for $2500. eventually i plan to turbo it probably in two years or so, once i have a stronger clutch and limited slip diff installed. all that said, i would love to get back into dsm's and may soon pick up a 1g gsx, but thats most likely not gonna happen so i won't get into that, but eventually i hope to be back here.
sorry for the novel, but i just kinda wanted to poke my head in and say hi with an update on me, if anyone even remembers me, and i guess thats about it.
