I have this winning noise coming from sounds about like its near the rear of the motor. Its from idel-all rmp ranges.
Car: 1992 eagle talon tsi with 1990 motor and trans
Shep stage 1, Act 2600 , regrinded cam, full 3 inch exhaust, BALANCE SHAFT DELETE, POWER STEERING DELETE, big 16g, evo 3 Mani.
The guy I bought the car from said its the timing tensioner is too tight, BUT the timing is spot on, and it doesn't feel too tight.
Can I please get some help ASAP?

copy and paste this in your URL for the video, it wouldn't upload for some reason.

Have you checked all fluid levels (trans, oil, power steering)? How's your oil pressure?

I have no power steering. I have checked the oil pump voltage, I don't have a oil sending unit hooked up there far I dont know the pressure. But I'm 100% it works because I drove the car for about a week. No tick ext.
Oil is fresh. Transmission fluid is like 500 miles. New filters.

Since you have all your timing belt cover off, Try to stick a grenade pin from auto tensioner or an allen wrench works in the auto tensioner to check the tension on the belt. It sounds like either your Alternator belt or Timing belt is too tight or a bad pulley.

Alright thanks m8, I'll see if I can check it this week end. I may or may not be able to. If iI do I'll report back

My Car makes the same noise, this was after i replaced my front case and oil pump with new OEM parts from Extreme PSI. I believe its from the strait cut oil pump gears. I planning to pull the engine this fall and will be checking all this out.

It was my oil pump gears grinding... I also have straight gears. But from what I'm told they still shouldn't be screaming this loud. I had a b.s.e kit and when I dropped my oil pan my bse stub was in the oil pan. Then when I took the front case off the oil pump gears had grinned into the sidewall of the oil pump housing
