1G what is the volume air flow sensor and how do i test it?

ok i got a volume air flow sensor code and a knock sensor code. it just turned on today and the light comes and goes. now my question is were is and what is the volume air flow sensor and how do i test it??? and what is the easiest way to get the the knock sensor i know were it is but would like to know the easiest way toget to it. thanx to this site i made my tester:thumb::thumb::thumb::dsm:
 
I believe your talking about the mass airflow sensor. It is located on the passenger side, upper engine area, rear of air filter housing, mounted on top of air intake hose. You could go to Autozone.com and look at the"product and how to info"section , that could probably give you a better answer on how to test it. And for the Knock Sensor, it will be hard for you to get your hands up there because you have the brace that attaches to the intake manifold and to the engine block.
