2G What is the normal spot the stock oil pressure gauge sits at?

I just realized the line from the intake manifold to the bov wasnt plugged in but after i plugged it in i feel like i got my boost back from it not leaking but at the same time the oil pressure gauge sits below that first line above the low line and most of the time its below that line. Is that the normal place it was suppose to sit? Before when it was unplugged the oil pressure would ride around in the middle of the gauge so now im just lost with whats normal or if something is messed up that i need to fix.

There is really no normal for the stock gauge. My car idles at about 18 psi and the stock gauge is just below the first line at idle. At about 4000 RPM I see 50 psi and my stock gauge shows about 3/4 of the way up.

I highly recommend that you get an actual oil pressure gauge for your car.

Ok good to know because that means im probably ok. Just making sure I still have ample oil pressure to keep things cool.

Gonna be low on cold starts til the oil warms up to operating temp it'll slowly increase I wana say like 10-20psi idle and as rpms increase should top out at 60psi...sorry Idk what the stock gauge looks like, other things play a factor to like viscosity of oil(like 10w-30 vs 0w-20) how much oil is in it, if you still have a balance shaft n oil pump isn't timed correctly ect

So maybe its something I should get checked out so I'm not assuming its ok.

Just like every DSM owner, one of the first things you should buy for your car is a real oil pressure gauge. The stock one isn't worth anything. If you care about the health of your engine then you should actually monitor real oil pressure.

Also @Coppermitsu you stated cold start behavior incorrectly. Oil pressure is higher on cold starts until the oil heats up and thins to normal operating viscosity.

I will look into get gauges to watch everything properly but right now im in the middle of trying to fix mechanical things so my wheel doesn't go flying and my flywheel isnt exposed LOL

Not sure if you figured this out yet, I would recommend that because so many variables will change the readings on it.
I haven't gotten around to it yet because i need to fix i believe the cv axal and then wheel bearings and a tie rod first so my front left tire does snap flopped off LOL

Lol research what others have for oil psi with the closest setup as you that will at least give you a idea? I hate saying research but it's best for this scenario

Well I could unplugged that line and see if it was where it sat before and if so it should be "fine" once plugged in.
