What is a normal oil pressure reading on a stock 1g gauge?

With my new engine I get around a quarter of the way across at idle and a normal reading when driving, My oil pressure gauge hasn't worked until just recently when I got the new engine in and Im worried, is it supposed to be that low at idle or what?



(ever since I have gotten this engine in Ive been suspicious about everything with only 11 miles on it so far)

Yup. DSMs drop oil pressure like crazy at idle. Spec is something like 14psi at 750 rpm. Also, the factory gauge/sender team isn't really meant for space use. It's not horrible, but you'll play hell trying to find two DSMs who read the same.

Just drive. Enjoy it until it dies.
