What IS that thing under the throttle pedal?

Here's a stupid question for you that I've been curious about for a while but just thought of this morning. What is that little button looking gizmo underneath the gas pedal in the floorpan? Some sort of reset switch? Diagnostic port? Never played with it before...'cause I have no idea what it is or what it does. Anyone care to shed some light?

There's no plug down there.
Unless your talking about the little plastic/rubbery piece that sits under the gas pedal.

Yeah...It's some sort of plastic or rubber thing, but down inside, it looks like there's some sort of button or...something. No idea. Right on the floorpan beneath the gas pedal.

I believe it is just a stopper. It keeps you from over extending the TB and hurting it.

That button just so happens to be the same color as your car too huh? Don't press it, if you do your car will instantly crankwalk and never run again. Just kidding, it's a bolt. The rubber piece is there to stop the pedal from turning the throttle plate farther than 90 degrees.

Awesome! My very own self destruct button! Just what I've always wanted.

Okay...there's some curiosity quenched. I never really bothered to investigate the thing. Thought it was some sort of adjustment for...something. But now that I know it's just a bolt, I'll make sure to threaten passengers with it, telling them it's like...my N02 button or something. "Yeah, man. When I floor this thing, it hits that button and you just take off like a bat outta hell." "Cool! Do it!" "Can't, man. Sorry. I don't have my G-suit with me. Without it, you pull so many G's that you'd pass out. It just wouldn't be safe."

Anyway...thanks for an informative answer to a stupid question.
