right, so....
background first:
i have a 95 Talon Tsi Awd, it has a new engine in it and i'm 99% sure it's a 6 bolt 1G engine.

now, i want to get a datalogger for it. does it have a 1G compuer? or could you leave the 2G computer in to run the 1G motor? it has the OBDII connector and i've reset CEL's before through it before. is there a difference in 1G and 2G computers or dataloggers? what is the best kind of datalogger out there?

I am 99% sure it's a 2G ECU. Wiring a 1G motor to work in a 2G is minor compared to wiring in a 1G ecu to collect data from all the 2G sensors and crap.

To be 100% sure, look at the wiring harness as it connects into the ECU. Does it have 3 harness blocks or 4? If it's 4, then its a 2G ECU.

thanks for the quick reply! i'll go out and look in a little bit. so if it is a 2G ECU what kind of datalogger is the best. i want one that hooks up to a Palm not a laptop. will everything work like it's suposed to? since it's a 1G engine?
