What is "50trim" ?

A 50 trim is a garrett t3/t4 turbo. Note that many garrett turbos are 50 trim, but I believe the T04E is most common.

trim is the ratio of inducer^2 to exducer^2 x 100 of the compressor wheel.

I could attempt to explain the meaning of the whole inducer and exducer size jargon but whether you know what it means or not, I tend to doubt that it's going to benefit you much. I think turbochargers.com or the garrett turbo website has exducer and inducer diameters. That's much easier than figuring it out yourself based on Trim numbers. I believe the inducer is the inner edge of the compressor wheel where the air is drawn in to. The exducer I believe is the outter most edge of the wheel. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.
If you're familiar with the Forced Performance "green" turbo, or Mitsubishi's 20g, or AGP's L2R, these are most comparable to a garrett 50 trim turbo. Some do have significant differences though, so I can't really explain it much better than to give you other turbos to compare to. The 50 Trim T3/T4 setup is argued to be the best "street turbo" by many. It doesn't take terribly long to spool up and can put a very large amount of power out utilizing pump gas (sub 94 octane). Andre is currently making over 500 horsepower (pump gas) with a 50 trim t3/t4 that was made to his specifications.
