Picked up a Holset H1C today but after running the numbers I can't find much info on it.

Here's the serial numbers.
assy: 3522658
serial: 856695
engine: 3907857
type: h1c

I'll take some pictures and post them shortly.

Four h1c's were produced ("baby" h1c, "small" h1c, "big" h1c, and the Wh1c). A simple picture with some measurement of the compressor wheel and it can be identified.

I didn't get any measurements, it's all still in one piece.

Here's the pictures I just took.

Sold the H1C to a friend with a D series Honda.

Here's another Holset I'm looking at, HX55.

Will I ever spool this thing? Is an HX40 a better choice for a street car?

Read up on all of the Holset information before making new posts. Yes, you'll spool it. What RPM range is determined by the exhaust manifold and hot side housing, cams, etc.

It would be good to turn into a home made jet, but use on a street car? Definitely not.

That first turbo you sold was a baby h1c. Not a small it has about as much flow as a small16g ont he compressor side :). but the same turbine as the bigger h1c turbos and very similar to the hx35 on the turbine side.

The hx55 you have there flows 87+ lb/min :) Yes you can get it to spool to 15-20psi by 4800rpms with a tru divided manifold. That's a streetable as an old fp red :) . But you will need to invest alot on dough in the divided exhaust manifold, unless you are prepared to properly fabricate your own.
