When my t21 throws a fin and stops spooling and the engine's power drops to nothing, i know i need a new turbo.

what i dont know is, when the turbo dumps all the oil down the Intake - how much oil does it dump and how bad is it? I thought i cleaned it out really well, but maybe i didnt O_O

could remaining oil inside your IC harm the engine if i missed some???

What could cause an engine to develope a knock when the turbo blows?

TY.

Well, it depends on how long you drove the car with it pouring into the IC piping...

Nope, it'll all just go into the motor, get combusted with the fuel and air, and then shoot out of the exhaust causing a smoke screen.

mmmmm, maybe lack of oil to the bearings.... How low did your oil level get?

Hmmmm - Not too low - It burned/dumped quite a bit but I shut the car off and filled the oil back up to level and left it until i swapped to the 14b.

but maybe i didnt catch it in time, do you think that would fry the bearings? and how expensive would it be to fix? im starting to think I should take my car to a shop and have them do a diagnostic before I just buy a new motor, would it be cheaper to fix/rebuild? I know ive seen complete rebuild kits posted on here for like 420-500ish , then labor i could get for like 200....

any more help would rock! ty

So, how low was it?

If your oil level get low enough for a long enough period, then yes, it could ruin your bearings.....

Yes, definatily have it looked at by a professional before you go spending any money.
