What happens when you CLIP a turbo?

ok so Im getting a ported evo3 16g turbo and I was wondering if its worth it to get it clipped or not? What exactly does this do....and does it help with spool up or what?

It adds time to spool up and gives you a little more topend.

Clipping - cutting away material on the fins of the turbo to improve top end performance.

This will lag your spool time, but will help top-end, which our cars suck top-end.
