i cleaned the connections on the bottom of the coil pack and i may have wired it back wrong but what could happen if i tried to turn the engine on ... can it fry the ecu?

Ah, your car won't start, it will be firing the plugs out of sequence with cylinders. The cylinder numbers are stamped on the coil pack to guide you.

Each coil has two terminals. One is for the 12v feed and the other goes to the power transistor module. It shouldn't make too much difference which you connect to which as long as your consistant and don't try connecting the PTM and ground wires together.

well it cant be right cause it seemed to fry my ecu.... does anybody have a picture of the bottom of a good ignition coil so i can make sure.

The coil themselves really aren't polarized.
It's doesn't make a whole lot of difference if the current is flowing from one direction or the other but getting the wires correctly matched up is important.

I didn't go pull my coil to compare but I was confused why there are so many wires on that coil. It looks more like a '90 would with the wires for it's tach gate that is hooked up in parallel with the low (ground/trigger) side of the coil. The 91 coil pack only has three wires, the common to both coil power feed and the two low side connections to the power transistor one to each coil.
