What happened to Porter's performance ?

Hey fellow DSM'ers looking for an affordable 2.3 fully built long block and i came across Porter's but can't find a website can someone point me the right direction to finding a built long

Drove past it today and looks like they have closed up shop. The building they were in is for sale.

Porter's performance sold me a crap "pre-tested" $4,000+ motor. So disappointed!!


When I put the crate "pre-tested" motor in, it started right up and purred like a kitten. Oil pressure was fine, turbo pressure was fine, things seem to be great while the engine was idling. About 25min. into the idling I heard a tapping sound! Oh no, I said !! What the....?!

I later found out it was a loose rod!! I called them to tell them what happened. Talked to a guy name Austin at first. He assured me that he will fix the problem better than new!! Just ship it back. That was a pain within itself but I did it and called them back to let them know I was about to send the crate motor.

I had three phone numbers to contact them but all had been disconnected!!! Look for my account on their site. The site was GONE!!! Tried to look them up. Nowhere to be found!! over $4,000 down the drain!! WOW!!

They are no longer in business. They no longer have the shop from what I understand.

My 2 cents:

nice guys but horrible business, they did my stage one rebuild, I have 10k on the engine and have had it to my local mechanic three different times to fix their mistakes totaling over $1100. Word of advise to all you out there dont just take your beloved car to just anyone. Do a little research ahead of time, check them out online as well as BBB as well as word of mouth. If anything post the question here, multiple people will let you know what's up. Save your self a headache and those hard earned $$. And yes Porters Performance is no longer in business.
