What engine is this?

Okay so I've searched, googled, researched to the parts, asked people and asked the dealer who said "idk how to help you on that one man". And so far no luck on figuring out an answer to my question. My question is what kind of engine do I have? I know its an evo engine, I bought it from an engine core place while buying a head for my car. It is from a wreck. orientation is backwards from my eclipse so I know its newer than the evo 3. But I don't know how new it is. And so far no one has been able to help me in figuring this out. I will post pix of it here in a minute. I want to know just what evo this engine came from. Number on the block says 4g63 then under it says HN6838. Pistons say 63te8 on the top. The IM does NOT have the flaps/runners like cyclone intakes. Does not have any castings like eci multi or cyclone or turbo intercooled on it. IM weighs like 3lbs. Cam gears say 233 on them. Pix will be posted soon.

63TE8, from a quick Google Search, is the Evo 8 piston; that's the 2003-2005 Evo.

The engine block part number for that model is MN137516. Do a Google Image Search with that part number to compare the results with what you have.

also head says g6ew 1 behind coolant outlet. Intake valves say 6 n and exhaust valves say 6t.

Well I just got the piston numbers today. I was googling the numbers on the block and head and it always came back with no search results. But thanks for the info will post a few pix anyways. Thanks for helping.

You see, doing a little leg work on your own has its benefits. :p

I was referring more to pages like these, full of pictures:
**How to build a performance world-class track EVO VIII** - 4TuningRO

Haha hey I did do a LIL leg work LOL I don't know why I didn't think to google the piston #'s  you think I would have thought of that. And damn I wish I could afford all that LOL! Now I'm just need to figure if and how a can use any of this on my 2g GST or just rebuild the evo engine itself and find something to put it in LOL evo shells are expensive though LOL

i know you can use those pistons in a 2g, theres more info on these "frankenstein" engines at thedsmgraveyard website

Yeah I'm pretty sure (with a bore I think) pistins can be used. I believe the crank rods and pistons can all be used. The turbo can be used with a header but Idk know about the head yet. All head bolts line up just the same so it sits on the block but I haven't had time to check out all oil/coolant passages. But I know their are more on the evo side so idk yet if they would match up with the 2g holes and just block off the extra ones or if I would have oil/coolant going to the wrong places.

I'm also looking at the cams for using them in a 2g head I know they are different but I think my machine shop could make them fit. Idk I'd have to take it to them to check out.
