General What ECU is this?

I have a black metal ecu that according to the previous owner was purchased/installed by the dealer new in 2008. It is not a flashable plastic 98/99 ecu (I have one and can verify it's different), but the identification numbers don't match up to the 1997 stock ecu's according to Eclipse Talon Laser Galant 3000GT Stealth ECU ID Reference. The first part "MD335287" is the same, but the second number is "BSE18929" instead of "E2T61687" like it should be. Is this some type of updated ecu?

I took it out and realized that it was black because it was painted..no idea why someone would do that. It looks like a normal ecu but those numbers still aren't the same. It must just be a non-oem label used by the dealer or something.

Yup, the label on the outside of the case is non-OEM. Just your basic 2g non-EPROM ECU.

That case was obviously painted..You can see the overspray on the outside of the harness connector..That white part there, where the wires hook to.

I'm no 2g expert but shouldn't the flashable ecu be a plastic cover?

Yes, flashable ECUs look completely different.

Yes I realize that now but I couldn't tell until I took it out. And I knew it wasn't a flashable ecu, I just mentioned that because it was black too.

With the sticker I thought it was painted.Then when I seen the inside a light went off.

See and then yes, the flashable one looks like night compared to day.
