hey guys i took my car to auto zone to have them test the check engine light and they said that two things came up. one of them was a faulty egr valve, and the other was a heated oxygen sensor-bank 1 sensor 2 (H02S12) does anyone know which o2 sensor this is and if so let me know. i have searched the forums but i couldnt find anything that told me which one this is.

I searched online and that code came up for fords. Our codes start with P0xxxx. It may be the front sensor.

Sensor two is the rear, or downstream, oxygen sensor. It's after the catalytic converter. It's impossible for us to guess what's wrong with it without the specific code, but downstream oxygen sensor codes may also indicate a problem with the catalytic converter.

alright heres a dumb question is that sensor the one farthest from the engine or closest

i have neither, just regular o cat. i was going to get a testpipe but someone told me that if i do that it will cause your piston rings to fry

Someone watched 'Blade' too many times, as long as you have a stock manifold as well as exhaust you will be fine. People that have open exhaust rev the nuts out of it because they think their fast, wearing the engine faster.

Ya the test pipe won't do anything to you pistons. Just would have caused an o2 sensor reading showing up on your ecu.

But since that's not the case it's probably either a faulty sensor or cat

ill probably just replace the sensor and put a test pipe in there and deal with it
