Just did key dance. I got 13 blinks. (What does this mean)

I just did the key dance- On-off,on-off, on. then the CEL blinked 13 times.....so im wondering what this means?

You have to pay attention to the pauses between the blinks. There are short pauses and long pauses. The long ones indicated the end of one code and the beginning of another. You should have 2 codes stored, they are 12 and 55, both of those are normal.

12 would be: one blink, pause, 2 blinks, long pause.
55 would be: 5 blinks, pause, 5 blinks, long pause, or most likely no more blinking, because 55 usually means "end of codes"

Try it again and see if you can figure the codes out.

EDIT: If it blinked 13 times, and you add the blinks I posted(5+5+2+1) you get 13, so unless your CEL is on I see no problem.

Hmm..Sometimes my car will act up like that. Ill try to read the codes and the CEL wont even illuminate, I usually just start the car, turn it off and check again and it works.
