what does a 1g way stripped? i mean 2 front seats & dash only, all glass still in ac removed?

i tried to search but didnt get anything so please dont get mad at me.

I weighed my 93 Talon on a state certified scales. It is N/T w/SS header. All else is stock.

With spare tire, jack and a liitle over 14 gal. of gas it weighed 2760.

If you wanna shave more weight then go with carbon fiber or fiberglass wherever you can.
Too you can replace some of the glass with plexiglass to save a few more.

Ditch the fuel tank, put a lil plastic one in the trunk.....Theres a lot of things you can do, it just depends on how far you wanna go with it.

Wow, I know I've added some weight in the brakes, transmission, and turbo department since my nt days, but I may be looking at 2500lbs in my car with that info :thumb:

I gotta find a scale somewhere around here.

I removed everything in the back of the car ( spare tire, jack, sound deadning, paneling, rear seats, seat belt brackets ) and next im going to remove all the carpet in the interior and pull up the rest of the sound deading and that silcone on the fire wall; and then lay new clean black carpet down.
I also dont have a/c, or cruise control, or emissions equipments and i took out the metal shieldings under the car and the rear metal bumper guard and its brackets.
Wish I could do without powersteering but Im not too fond of the "feel" without powersteering. On a friends speculation, im curious though if putting a power steeringless manual rack off the 1.8 some what make up the feel for being without power steering?
Im assuming im in the 2600lb arena... Hopeing to get it down to 2500lbs without me in it.

Ahh ... Thread resurrection... We meet yet again LOL
On topic though, 1gs are a lot lighter to begin with. the carbon fiber hood and rear hatch and seats save weight significantly.

Alsoi for a street car if you wanted to remove the front and rear bumpers you could replace them with aluminum ones out of a luxury car. I know infiniti I-30's came with aluminum bumpers because that's where I got mine from. Also caddys, and a few other luxury cars have aluminum bumpers. Go peek around at your local u-pull and pay and see what you can find. They are significantly lighter than the stockers. I didn't weigh them but just by picking them up you can feel a big difference. Also if you remove all your factory sound deadening and carpet just lizard skin the floor and leave the carpet out. Looks great and makes it not look all gutted. Every pound counts!
