what does a bigger turbo SOUND like?

first off, sorry if this is not the correct section for such a question.

anywho, i finally got my slowboy race block more or less broken in and whatnot.. got everything behaving as it should..

So i bought me your typical Hybrid 50 tim (t04e .63 ar 3"inlet)

i havent gotten it yet.. shipping but i was just curious.. my 14b was louder than my t25, and my 16g louder than the 14b... so is the 50 tirm gonna be louder than the 16g?

im referring to the.. whistleing noise.. I have been told garrett turbos have a different sound than the mitsu because the wheels are different..

anyway.. i was just wondering.. its more or less irrelevent but i was just wondering.

It will be louder because it is moving more air.

You can't really describe what it sounds like, I think everyones description would be a little different.

Your 14b was louder than your T25? My 16g was so much quieter than my T25, it was a loud little snail while it lasted. The T25 was just a constant building whistle, it started kinda quiet then got louder as the boost went up. My 16g sounds kinda like a jet, you can hear it start to spin like it's sucking in air and then the whistle starts heavy and continues til I let off. All the 50 trim's I've heard are from outside the car and with external wastegates so I'm not sure what the spool sounds like.

Mine sounds like a vaccume cleaner and it's a 16g, It's the bissol boost box.

A VERY large part of how it will sound is the intake you use...my Injen intake, which is pruven to whistle alot does just that with my stock T25....where as other intakes will not...especially if your intake is still stock...which i doubt but just in general.

as for my intake.. its a 2.5 inch metal pipe with a rubber elbow attaching to the turbo inlet on one side and the fatter part of the stock rubber neck thingy on the other.. the accordian part of course is totally gone.

yeah my 16g sounds alot quieter then my t25 by far...

I dont know what it is about my b16g...its ported to hell and clipped(and 34mm flapper) but it doesnt sound much like a turbo...kinda like what he said a vacuum cleaner. I dont know how to explain it it just does...
