What do you think of my plan? (Suspension upgrade)

Alright,

I'm on a bit of a budget for suspension, but I'd really like to freshen up my suspension since my current stock system does have 165k miles and feels kinda soft. I will be doing mostly city driving with the occasional spirited back country driving and maybe some time at the dragstrip. Yes I'd like my car to "look cool" but that's not my top priority. I was planning on getting the KYB GR-2 shocks & struts along with the Eibach Sportline or Prokit springs (still haven't decided). Anyone have any comments? Will these two work together w/o any trouble? Anyone have any experiences to share?

Thanks,
Tamer

I put on GR2's and Intrax Springs from Summit (really cheap!) several years ago and I love it. For every day street driving I wouldn't want anything stiffer as the ride is still comfortable but handles great.

Thanks,

Sounds like I've got a good setup. I'll check out those Springs at summit. I would like to go all out with suspension, but it's not worth it since I know I won't make it to the track too much, I'll be doing mostly City driving. Also, what special tools would I need to get to change out my shocks/struts and springs?

Thanks,
Tamer

The best thing to do when modifying your car is to be really honest with yourself about how you are going to use it. Don't kid yourself building a race car that you want to drive to work every day. If you mostly do city driving then set your car up that way. In the end you'll be happier.

You don't need any special tools to the job, it's pretty straight-forward. You may need a little muscle to bust some old bolts loose though.

from what I've gathers the gr2's will probably be perfect for your setup. as they are similarly set to stock and will allow the extra travel with lowering springs.

IMO, sportlines look much better on a 1g; but many will argue lowering your car more than 1.5" won't do anything to increase performance. [ do a search, you'll see ]
