hey,
i got a 98 eclipse GST with a few mods such as a 16G turbo upgrade, 3 inch exhaust, intake, etc....right now im running 18psi and was wondering what i need for the car to run on 22psi? i really want my car to be running 22psi safely without having to go to the shop everyday...i want to know what internals or w/e i need thats affordable that i can put into my engine to make it safely run at 22psi and go fast...let me know thanks alot for your help guys :thumb:

Good fuel tuning and a large FMIC should allow you to boost 22 psi. As long as you're not knocking you are good.

Fuel pump
Injectors
Something to control the injectors with
Different bov then stock
datalogger or some sort of way to see if you are pulling timing
A bigger intercooler

You may have some of what I listed already but your profile isn't filled out.

Yea, i have a 255lph Extreme fuel pump, a greddy type-s bov, and i have a huge front mount, my car is ready for poewr but im not sure of what i need in terms of fuel and w/e to run higher boost, im running 18psi with no internals...what do i need to run 22psi safely? what size injectors, rods?, cams?, pistons?...someone please help me...so confused in what to buy and save money to make my car fast and safe!!! thank you guys so much for your time :)

650's and an S-AFC...stock Internals should be fine.

PS 18psi is to much for the stock injectors, turn it down to 15 until you get more fuel. Also it would be a good idea to get some ARP head studs.

wait.. since your looking for more boost, then go with bigger fuel injectors of course.. but what about upgrading the ignition system? get more spark at it too right? does anyone make something like that? like a blaster coil for a 4G63T

DSM's have a great ingnition system you will be fine at 22 Psi, one guy has made 600+ whp on the stock ignition. Update your profile and that will help some people out. But from what I have read that you have you just need some injectors (550's or 660's) and a way of tuning (translator, SAFC, DSmlink,...).

IMHO you need to do a little research here and elsewhere before doing this but I will give you a list of the parts you will probably need.

#1 AFPR. If you change the fuel system with a pump or injectors (most likely both) you will need a way to control the pressure. The stock fpr does not flow all that much and could use an upgrade to help you from running too rich down low.

#2 injectors. Bigger is not always better but too small can kill you. Get a logger or something that will allow you to look at your injector duty cycle and afr. If your duty cycle is too high (over 80% or so) get larger injectors.

#3 logger logger logger. You can't tune anything without a way to see what is actually happening. I preferr a wideband and EMS (dsmlink or better) but a logger will work for the most part.

#4 Plugs and wires. Make sure you have new stuff before upgrading.

#5 tuning. you can make the fastest car slow as a dog or dangerous with the wrong tuning.

This should cover you for the most part. Just make sure you have enough fuel for your air and you are ok to a point.

You may wanna add some ARP Head studs and a Cometic HP head gasket....You dont "need" them but they are relatively cheap and if anything "should" go wrong only at 22psi it'll most likly be something along those lines.

As far as internals go....you should be good to go. I ran 20 on my old gst and had no internal work done and had no problems.

is a dual stage boost controller good?

how do they acutally work...can i set low to 18psi and high to 22psi? or does it not work like that...

thanks for the help guys!

I'm sure you know by now that you'll need injectors, pump, and any data exchanger.

Your stock internals will be okay as long as you know you have good compression across the board.
