Sooo I heard back from Mitch at Engintecs, and my stock 7bolt cylinders are out of round. Seeing as how I was trying to keep the motor under 2 grand, (about 900 for the head, and as little as possible into the block) I'm pretty confused on what I should do. heres the options as I see it.
1) bore the 7bolt out, get new pistons (aftermarket or stock?) bearings etc and probably stay under my budget.
2) try to find a used 6-bolt thats been built up a bit and match with the head from Mitch.
3) go WAY over budget and buy a built 6-bolt from Mitch, (or even farther over budget and get a stroker)
I had originally planned on just a simple re-ring, and trying to spend as little as possible on the actual block. then if i crankwalk or blow it up, i'd go with a built 6 bolt later.
I guess i'm not sure one what the "point of diminishing returns" is for my 7 bolt.

) isnt very beneficial AT ALL. If you have a little bit of time, and really dont mind spending the money, go ahead and do the used 6bolt, get a small build on it, match the head, and go from there.
