I just took my Ecu out because im going to send it to Ecmtuning for inspection and testing. I noticed a brown spot on the bottom of the board. What could it be from? its under the black drivers. Is it of concern? Also does it matter which way the dsmlink chip goes on the socket? MD312464 E2T61672

The brown spots are signs of over heating the board and the two driver chips in question are the ones that operate the ISC. It's possible that they are damaged due to a bad ISC. The guys at ECMTuning will check them out if you mention it.

Yes, the chip orientation matters. If you plug it in backward you will blow it up. Both the board and chip have alignment marks but it's simple if you follow this. http://www.ecmtuning.com/downloads/docs/ECMLink Chip Instructions.pdf

Ok thank you. I figured there was something wrong with the ISC drivers last time I had the car running, my ISC value in link wouldn't level out and would sometime stick at 120 or 0. Im.going to send my ecu in to ecmtuning and have them get things fixed.
