Having a problem with hesitation from half throttle up. It's a mostly stock 2g gsx mods are as follows....apex'i air filter and heat shield and boost solenoid restrictor removal. The thing is this started happening out of the blue, so I doubt its because of the mods and @ stock boost I doubt it's fuel cut. I haven't had access to a datalogger yet but in class I plugged it up to a univeral scan tool. With the crappy resolution and refresh rate it wasn't very helpful but I did see my timing advancing so I assume it's not because of knock and there are no error codes or CEL's either.

The other day we unplugged the maf and the problem went away, it ran kinda rough at idle but the hesitation was gone at part-to-full throttle. so after that we thought maybe it was the maf.....after finding another used one we installed it and the problem is still there. :thumbdown no difference. What exactly does the ecu do when it doesn't have the data from the maf? it runs off secondary things to know when to add fuel like CAS and rpm, correct? How could the car run better with the maf unplugged

what's the deal....please help!

Please help guys......I'm going to put new NGK plugs and wires tomorrow because it probably needs it anyways.

Whadayathink? Any ideas at all?

In other news the vr4 is running clean as hell

I had something like this with my 1g. I initially thought it was fuel cut as well. (i have since experienced "real" fuel cut for the 1st time and when it happens you'll know!) Part throttle hesitation soon became full throttle hesitation. Changed the plugs, no difference, changed the wires and it's been good since. Keep in mind they were 1 year old accel wires, so they weren't too old.

Check the gap on the spark plugs. I had this problem once, made the gap smaller, the problem went away. The hesitation feeling was the spark being blown out.

Thanks for the replys guys......I put new NGK plugs and wires in last night and the problem is gone :thumb:
