Hi everyone this is dumb clutch question.. i know the 420A and 4g63 are both completely different engines and transmission as well but im looking to buy a clutch kit on ebay, i noticed the 420a clutch kit's are a lot more expensive then the 4g63T & 4g63A clutch kit's. i was wondering if the 4g63A clutch kit will work for my 420a transmission. i think the 1990 to 1994 non-turbo DSM's have the 4g63A engine. will the clutch kit off the 4g63A fit my car or the 4g64 or any of them for that matter? i know the dodge avenger and, neon clutch kits would fit but there still in the high price range

You need a modular clutch which includes the flywheel and everything in one unit. This is the reason the clutches for the 420a (NV-T350).

Look at southbendclutches ( South Bend Clutch - DXD High Performance Clutches ) They make a very reputable clutch for out cars. I wouldn't cheap out on something as important as your clutch. Saving $75 by going ebay isn't worth the potential headaches you may run into in the future.

I understand what your saying but i recently blew my transmission, really tight on cash. i bought a new transmission and my friend put 2 throw bearings in my tranny, which isn't giving my clutch room to dis-engage, my car wont go into first gear as much as i try to move the gear stick into first it wont go in, even when the car is off.. i've talked to a mechanic and he said its b.c of the clutch he doubt its the gear box.. but would a bad clutch prevent you from moving the gear stick into first even if the car is on or off? and is it a must that i get a flywheel and everything? if its bad clutch cant i just replace that by itself?

:ohdamn: why would he do that?:nono:

Seriously??

LOL yeah he did that, im new to transmissions and have no clue about them but i know alot about engine thats it. i told him the car only came with 1 and only 1 it should need but he kept insisting that it needed 2 bearings and maybe the other 1 fell out of the tranny somewhere :|
