2G what catback do you have (GSX)

What 3" catback do you have that doesn't bottleneck down to fit the stock down pipe. I have the punishment racing DP but cant find any catbacks besides the Thermal R&D and Apexi.

I'm 1g, but I have a nodded srs stainless cat back with my 3" dp and race pipe. I tool out the muffler and used straight pipe with an mbrp tip, sounds nice, not too loud, very throaty.

srs or DNA ebay cat backs are cheap, fit good and sound decent.

Alot of ppl like the thermal exhaust. I believe Boostin has a full exhaust now too.

I have an hks which does bottle neck but I had that piece cut off and had a 3" piece welded in.
But then I got a ST rear sway bar which hits the axle back section.

I'm 99% percent sure all aftermarket catbacks bottleneck to fit the stock catalytic converter, hence the name. My apexi WS2 bottlenecked, so it's cut at the neck and a hi flow 3" cat is welded in. If you're going catless you'll have to chop and weld a piece as stated above .I also have a DNA on my fwd and loooove it, and it bottlenecks to where the DP bottlenecks to 2.5" or so. I don't think it's really that big of a deal.
And these bottlenecks are only about an inch, not including the flange.

So are you asking which cheap cat-back exhaust system fits a 3" downpipe? Because you already know Thermal and Apexi works, but so does STM's stainless cat-back system. I currently run a Thermal and Punishment dp and fitment is great, true 3" though out. However, if I ever need another I would go with Thermal again or STMs, which has a lifetime warranty and weighs less than 20 lbs.

I actually just had them cut the flange and weld on a 3" flange

I don't think there is a way around it. I had to cut and weld my SRS and if you do find something chances are it will be to long or too short and you would have to cut it anyway. I'm currently running a 3" Megan exhaust. It is a 1 piece exhaust from o2 housing to the axle back portion which mates to an aftermarket muffler. It's old and discontinued tho.

Interesting...my turboback apexi n1, the catback doesn't bottleneck where it meets the catdelete DP.
