2G What are these and can they be deleted?

Cleaning up my engine bay today, I'm trying to see what can be removed for a cleaner look. 1999 GS-T. Please explain what these items are in the photos and if they can be removed without causing an issue.

1st one is your horn, no idea what the 2nd one is(probably EVAP/emissions related), and 3rd one is your resistor pack for the injectors.


So, to answer you

1) Yeah if you don't want a functioning horn
2) Maybe?
3) No. Unless you have High-Z injectors, in which case the damage to the ECU is already done.

Well with #3 if you remove it, you won't get any fuel through your injectors. You'd need to put in the resistor bypass plug otherwise it's an open circuit. Don't do that without high-z injectors, as @CrackedDSM says

Sorry I meant the bracket above the resistor pack. I know I need that, but what's the plug and bracket above that?

I'd suggest downloading the 2G chassis/electrical manuals and FSM.
That bracket, IIRC, acts as the solenoids mounting points: EGR, evap purge, and FPS.

I think #2 is the purge control valve.

If you start removing solenoids you'll wind up getting faults for them unless you have DSMLink and disable them

Understood. The engine is out of the car, so don't believe I'll be getting any faults. I'm just trying to see how I can clean up the engine bay of things that aren't necessarily needed, or can be simplified.

Still need to find what emissions stuff I can remove as well.
