New Westminster,
I don't like the look of my stock piss yellow headlights. Can you guys recommend a brand and model that has the cleanest whitest headlights possible? And also affordable at the same time? I have a 97 Eclipse GST and it takes a 9006 right?

If you have a picture of your headlights shining, please post.

Thanks in advance! :D

I would go with PIAA. They are extremely bright. They are a little pricey but I think its worth the money. I have the silverstars and im not impressed. I am going to upgrade to the PIAA bulbs myself.

There has been plenty of threads on this subject and the Silverstars always come out on top. For $30 you cant get any brighter and they dont look ricey at all. I love my silverstars! The bulbs have a crazy bluish purple chameleon tint to them, and they look great. Save your money and get the Silverstars, PIAAs are good but I think spending anymore than $50 on some headlights is unecessary unless your talkin HID. :thumb:

I have PIAA Super White bulbs on my car and they are pretty damn white. I have had them for over 5 years now and haven't had a problem.

Silverstars. Ive had PIAA, good, but certainly not worth the price tag. The silverstar purplish light is really nice looking.

Does anyone know the actual bulb # for those Sylvanias? Are they different for the 95-96/97-99 headlights? 97-99 projectors?

9005 high beams
9006 low beams

Think this will be any good? Will this one provide white light with a hint of purple?

Ummm....I think he is trying to go the exact opposite route. And GT cars have Yellow Headlight housings, not bulbs. :thumb:

I would go piaa. the silverstars are just as good as my stock but they are whiter. Not much brighter, just whiter. There is no hint of blue or purple. I got the silverstars becuase of a thread way back when ythis came up and i recommended piaa. But as some advise, stick to what you know and what you have experience with. Piaa is a much more reputable company that specializes in auto lighting. Also how many other parts have you guys bought from walmart or autozone for your cars ?
make me wonder ........ about the quality of parts under you guys hood ! there is a clear reason why silverstars are $20 a bulb and piaa are $50+ . Its not just the name.

I had PIAAs for over 5 years before they burned out. i got lucky when i ordered them because the reciept showed a price for 2 but i only got charged for 1 on my credit card. anyways, after my PIAAs burned out i went and got a set of Silverstars and IMO they're just as good as the PIAAs. For the price you can't go wrong with a set of Silverstars.

You do know that SilverStars are made by Silvania right? Doesn't get much more reputable than Sylvania in the lighting market.

I have had both and I prefer the Silver Stars. Compared to the stockers I think they might look bluish but I think it is actually only because they are being compared to the crappy yellow lights.

I'll be damned if Im gonna spend 100+ for some damn headlights. I would much rather spit out another 200 and get HID. And trust me, just because I bought my Silverstars from autozone doesnt mean Im rolling APC intake, exhaust and LED tire caps. It just means Im smarter with my money. But hey, if you can spend 100 bucks on PIAA's.....then more power to you man. Just dont rag on us who cant do the same............ :thumb:

Well, they're made by Osram, which might have an even greater reputation in the automotive field. But yes, they're excellent products.

PIAA Xtreme Whites. :thumb:

I know I am quoting myself, but I had to because I have had a change of opinion. The Silverstars are the way to go. They are almost the exact same thing as the PIAA X's, and under half the price. :thumb:
