welding wastegate door or remove it?!?!??!

im currently running a 6262 i wanna go external wastegate on the 02 housing would i remove the door which i think is the right way or do i weld the door please let me kno if u have done it thanks

If your car wasn't a black cherry I would ignore this for obvious reasons, but being a fellow black cherry owner I'll answer it. You remove the flapper and port the hell out of the wastegate hole.

I just got my car with an external hks wastegate on the stock 14b, ill have to check to see if the flapper is still there or not. Thanks for the info.

Rhetorical question for you two to think about; if you leave the internal flapper in place, and have the external wastegate plumbed in after it, how would exhaust flow from the exhaust manifold through the closed off passage and into the external wastegate?

what he said^^^ if the wastegate is on the manifold you weld it shut and if its on the o2 housing you take it out
