Welding Oil Pan to Block

Ok so I have rebuilt my engine and I have an oil leak. The problem seems to be around the oil pan. driving normal not a bad leak; boosting a little (10psi) i pull into my driveway a second later and oil has blasted out of the pan on the firewall and on the ground. the pan is not perfectly flat on the flange but not too bent. 500 miles on the motor almost and the UV dye seems to be comming out of the oil pan allll around.... would it be a bad Idea to weld the oil pan to the block if I plan not to take it apart again?

No dont weld it. Buy a new oil pan they arent that expensive and a new gasket. Or using an anvil and a mallet straighten out the bent spots.

Yeah. Really bad idea. If your pan is that damaged, you need to get a new pan. What are you using to seal the pan? A gasket or RTV? If a gasket, what kind? If RTV, what color?

Why would you take a chance at messing up your block and more (OIL IS FLAMMABLE YOU KNOW..) when you can just buy a new oil pan, and do things the right way instead of hacking your dsm.

oh sweet jesus-dont do that!!! thats like people whos shifter splines wear out on their bikes/crotchrockets & they just weld on the shifter ### its not like you ever need to take it off, right? Wrong. if you took the time to rebuild it then take the time to make it seal right or get a new oil pan for 100-150 bucks. why half ass it and ruin ## whole engine for the simplest and last part of the rebuild?

Nah just weld it. That way you won't ever be able to take it off to diagnose any problems and all chances of being able to rebuild it is thrown right out the window lest you feel like cutting the pan off.

i used grey rtv on mine and i havent had any problems so far. dont weld it

Just use lots of RTV and let it sit for a few minutes then put that up...
